Maintaining your floor is simple with these few hints.

Make sure felt is applied on all your moveable furniture.
Do not drag your furniture across the floor, always lift it into place.
Do not use a convertible vacuum head, use a hardwood floor brush which can be purchased at Godfreys' vaccuum stores.
Use a bristle door mat, it looks a bit like a bottle brush and comes with different patterns and can be purchased at your local hardware store.

 

Washing your floor.

Use lukewarm water with a solutions designed for timber flooring, read its directions before use!
Use a sponge mop head for mopping the floor, do not use a steam mop.
Use a micro fibre mop for your regular lint sweep.
